IoT Antennas

Airgain is a market leader in IoT antenna technology, including highly integrated and customized ceramic and printed circuit board (PCB) embedded antennas and high performance, low profile external antennas. Our multi band antennas are designed for many frequency bands, including LTE with MIMO, Wi-Fi, and GPS/GNSS, and for all environments, from public safety to automotive aftermarket to fleet to industrial IoT (IIoT) to customer premise equipment (CPE).

Dipole Antennas

Dipole Antennas are commonly used in IoT devices, and are made from two equal length elements. Dipoles have the advantage of being omnidirectional, meaning that they transmit and receive signal equally around its radius, making them well-rounded for multiple wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, etc.), and easy to deploy since antenna alignment has little impact on performance.

Ceramic Antennas

Ceramic Antennas are known for the durability in extreme conditions, as well as for their compact form-factor. Additionally, ceramic antennas perform well across a wide range of frequencies, and maximize signal reception and transmission. GPS/GNSS is a common use case for antennas made out of ceramic material due to their ability to work with satellite signals, though they can be used for terrestrial sources as well.

Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC) Antennas

Flexible Printed Circuit Antennas are printed on a flexible circuit board, and sometimes feature an adhesive backing, which allows them to conform to various shapes and form factors. This allows the FPC antennas to take up less space inside the IoT design, which is ideal for small or compact device designs.

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Antennas

Printed Circuit Board (PCB) antennas are a widely used and cost-effective choice for IoT devices. These antennas are directly integrated into the device’s circuit board during manufacturing, which simplifies the design and saves space. PCB antennas can be customized to operate at specific frequencies, making them adaptable to various IoT communication protocols.
