Award recognizes innovation in M2M and the “Internet of Things.”
(Plymouth MN, February 10, 2014) – NimbeLink announced today that it has received a 2014 M2M Evolution Business Impact Award from TMC and Crossfire Media. The award was announced at the M2M Evolution Conference & Expo, held January 29-31, 2014, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The Business Impact Awards program recognized companies and business leaders who have successfully leveraged M2M and the Internet of Things (IoT) to solve a business issue, launch a new service or create revenue opportunities.
NimbeLink is providing both end-user products and products and services for M2M developers.
- The company’s OEM division provides TextAlert, a family of application-specific M2M solutions to help customers in a variety of industries—agriculture, construction, and medical—protect assets, control costs, and leverage information.
- The Product Development Services division provides a range of capabilities including design and engineering, cellular connectivity, sensor selection, cloud-based data collection, and manufacturing. NimbeLink has also leveraged technology the company developed for the TextAlert product to offer unique components including Skywire®, the smallest embedded cellular modem on the market. The Skywire line of of modems currently include CDMA, 2G and 3G devices and an LTE version scheduled for early spring release.
Like all of NimbeLink’s offering, Skywire helps developers bring products to market faster. Based on Telit 910-series modules, Skywire modems are available with bundled Verizon data plans, providing fully compliant, pre-certified cellular connectivity. Skywire is also available with a complete development kit that includes the cellular modem, baseboard, antenna, power supply, debug cables, and cellular service plan. Skywire’s designers at NimbeLink have won numerous product design awards including the Design News Golden Mousetrap Award in 2013, the Connect Most Innovative New Product Award in 2012, and the 2012 Embedded Computing Design Top Embedded Innovation Award.
